The Fall of the Newspaper?

Outside of Philadelphia Ryan and I always used to pass these newspaper boxes and I found them fascinating. I was inspired by one of my favorite blogs, Sweet Juniper, where among witty posts and commentary on Detroit and life in general, James Griffioen has photographed a tragic and breathtaking series on feral Detroit and the many feral houses in its urban wilderness. Check them out if you have a chance.

Before I moved I was sure we stopped to snap a few pictures of these feral newspaper boxes.

ryan werner goes to washington!

I have a feeling I'll continue to expand this post as I take photos of Ryan's move, but a champagne toast in Philly a few weeks ago was a pretty good start. He just moved on Wednesday April 14 and is starting his new job at The Hartford today!

Philly Snapshots

Before I moved to DC I actually did snap a few shots of my home of three years... I seem to appreciate these more now that I'm in a new zip code! (Summer 2009, taken with 2008 BlackBerry Storm)

I'd also be remiss if I didn't post one of the things I miss the most about Philly, Shinju Sushi! The have the best sushi in Philly (in my opinion), and they let their frequent customers grace the wall and write a note. Christian and DJ were nice enough to snap a photo of Ryan and I on the wall from their recent visit, which they nicely sent along to me. (Taken with Christian's camera phone, September 2009)
